Notes - Joshua Richmond found no record of John's first marriage, but he deduced that John married twice. Richmond considered it likely that Abigail was John's second wife because she would have been only 13 when Mary was born. Richmond also said that deeds show that Joseph was the son of Abigail. He thought that John's first wife probably died in 1662 and that John married Abigail early in 1663 when she was about 22. Thus, I have assigned John's first four children to John's probable first wife. [1]
