Notes - Cothren in his "History of Ancient Woodbury" discusses the origins of William Seaborn Martin. The idea that he was the son of Lt. Samuel Martin and Phoebe Bracey and born at sea was a strong family tradition, but he found no conclusive evidence that the tradition was factual.
Cothren had William Seaborn married to Abigail Curtis, but Maud Latham and others have William married to Abigail Nicholls.
